Close family, friends and wellwishers came together today to bid farewell to renowned philanthropist Allen Lockington who was laid to rest in Lautoka today.
Also attending the funeral were Government dignitaries led by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, Deputy Prime Minister Professor Biman Prasad and Assistant Minister for Women Sashi Kiran.
Paying tribute to Allen, close friend Peter Edwards said the members of the Bilolevu Club would never forget the work he did for his family, friends and community.
“He took us to places we had never been to before,” he said.
“He took us to places we lived in Lautoka but have never been to and he showed us first hand how people lived.
“This man has got a big heart and he showed it through the work that he did for the poor.
“He took us to these places and I think we are a lot better people because of Allen.”
