The Government is concerned with the type of offences that iTaukei people commit against their own people, says Assistant Minister for iTaukei Affairs Selai Adimaitoga.
She highlighted this during the Tailevu Provincial Council meeting in Nausori last Friday saying rape cases, violence against women, teenage pregnancies, drug abuse, school dropout were just some of the issue of interest that was now affecting the iTaukei people.
Ms Adimaitoga said such issues reflected that the leadership level in the iTaukei councils was not steady.
The Minister said the Government was working to improve its delivery service for the iTaukei people in the next few years through the National Development Plan.
She said they were also working to ensure good governance, well-being and economic empowerment for all iTaukei people.
