The Diwali Big Deal...
So what's the Diwali Big Deal? And what's in it for us? We are paying for it that's clear. The people, the pensioners, the VAT contributors. True's Up. Nothing like A Big Deal at Diwali!
Croz What is there to celebrate? we have been unable to vote for 4 years? We are under a military junta dictatorship? You (or Herr or Davis) would not live under such a situation but you think it is ok for Fijians? Like the Libyans - we will celebrate when we are free of the dictatorship.
A very successful and widely deemed fair election in Tunisia, they only needed 10 months to change from a democracy to a new constitutional assempbly, elections and reform. Fiji 'requires' 8 long years and even then the military intend to entrench themselves and we still have no idea about who will be 'invited' to particpate?
And the good news is that the regime remains predictable. It has just once more extended the PER and banned the annual meeting of the Law Society. Certainly two solid reasons to celebrate.
