Nature has been cruel in visiting yet another disaster on the people least capable of weathering it - the nation's farmers and small land holders. For the second time in the space of 12 months, they've been battered and stripped of their sole means of support. The Prime Minister was right to cancel his trip to the Copenhagen summit when he learned of the scale of the devastation. He's since been touring the affected areas offering practical support and encouragement. This is what real leadership is all about and will be remembered with gratitude by many ordinary people. In any event, Copenhagen was a disaster in which the major powers turned their backs on people living in developing countries like Fiji for their own selfish purposes. The PM didn't miss anything.

There are some really good posts on this site - however for obvious reasons (safety, privacy) many choose to remain anonymous.

However this makes it hard to follow the posting from the regulars. For example use your city eg Sydney or Suva or whatever way in which we can idetify the particular postings are from 1 person

Thanks Snoopy. I wholeheartedly agree. I wish all people commenting would adopt at pseudonym?

I'm sorry guys but what is the difference between a pseudonym and anonymous? Either way, you're anonymous.Or have I had too much of the Christmas spirit? Oh, you want to know which anonymous I am so you can identify me in future postings? It's THAT anonymous. Que? I might be the Phantom or Cruella De Ville and live in Patagonia or Paraparaumu. What does it matter? Surely it's the ideas that count rather than who you are and where you come from? Croz, I know who you are and where you are. Snoopy, I don't know who you are or where you live. Calling yourself Snoopy doesn't make a jot of difference. But happy Christmas to you both.

Croz, so your Christmas wish is that all people commenting should adopt a pseudonym. I can see where you're coming from. Then you can say " in a perceptive comment on my website, Dame Margot Fonteyn/ Deputy Dawg/Yogie Bear/ Lt Col Lialia etc said" such and such instead of "anonymous said" such and such. Yes, it makes sense. I can see it's a question of credibility. But please, no more slices of your beloved marama's Christmas cake. She's clearly using too much brandy. Guess it's that time of the year when even the clearest of heads can get muddled.

anon there is a big difference between a anon and pseudonym.

Hopefully there is 1 pseudonym per person but anon can be from many people so it is difficult to follow comments/discussions etc

anon #2 - you see the point but you post under anon - come on mate - help us out - why so so secretive - use a number if it makes it easier
