"It is not in our interest to remake the country (Afghanistan) in the Western image" (Hardtalk BBC World Service TV - Peter Galbraith, former UN deputy head of mission to Afghanistan). Does this apply equally to Fiji? Should Australia and New Zealand listen to this advice but listen with magnanimity? A splendid word which means, among many other meanings: "superiority to petty resentments or jealousy", "noble in feeling or conduct".

I think for now Frank and his team just concentrate on seeking new markets for Fiji.

I would like to see Fiji's largest revenue earner come from an agriculture based economy than relying too much on tourism. While sugar can remain one of the top earner in agriculture, we have so much more agricultural produce that can compete with sugar on large scale.

News Ltd and Fox New in particular are so biased that it is not funny. here in Australia i occasionally watch Fox news just to see how one eyed new reporting can be. Their coverage of the US Presedential election defied belief.

I urge the people living in Australia and NZ to lobby their MPs. Australia and NZ are being real bullies. We will show them in any case - Fiji will come out stronger and better with Bainnamarama's policies.
