Bainimarama is interviewed by Maori TV, Current Affairs, at 8pm tonight (UHF 12, I think, and Sky Channel 19).He's not the most polished of pubic speakers, but you should be able to form an opinion on whether he really has a vision for a better Fiji, or whether he's merely seeking to retain power as some of his detractors claim.

Polished speaking is one thing. Having a national vision is another. President Obama is a polished speaker but he is a polished thinker ahead of this. In Fiji, 'beggars cannot be chosers': we must use what we have. We have grown to mistrust 'polished politicians' and we do have a few. They never served our best interests: in the main, they served their own.
