Never again are elections which have been riddled with corruption to be conducted in Fiji with the complicit acceptance of Australia and New Zealand (or any other democracy in the so-called 'Civilized World'). Our democratic rights are no different to those of any other fully-fledged democracy - are they? Be assured that some of us have now found the confidence and the determination to see an amelioration of our standing and a refusal to be used again by these two neighbour countries for their own ends.
We shall take on the corrupt and still free persons who rattle around having believed that impunity would 'let them off'. No more reigning impunity for the major perpetrators of the 2000 coup, the plotters of bombings and politically-motivated killings. All must now be investigated and charged with their criminal undertakings. Their socially and business-connected heavies-behind-the-scenes need to be aware: no statute of limitations on your malfeasant conduct: 2014 ia a long way off?

Like his leader Voreqe (forget Chaudry) pundit Kamlesh is still harping on about allegations that every mentally sound person in the world knows is not true and have no basis at all as already proven by Fiji's Court of Appeal.
Kamlesh should not be wasting the poor Fiji taxpayers money living in luxury and doing absolutely nothing but on a daily basis enjoying his favourite tv show "Humphrey Bear" on the exclusive suburb on Red Hill in Canberra. He knows very well that there will never be any full diplomatic relations with Australia unless Fiji returns to democracy. It is simple as that.
Nothing relevant was proven in the Fiji Court of Appeal - not relevant to either Fiji's past democratic governance or to the level of corruption within institutions like the Court system itself. Diplomats who choose not to consult 'those who know' would learn nothing to base their views on: nothing evidential or of relevance to what corruption actually existed/exists and how it continued unabated for so long. They deal in received ideas and experience which suits the mould. Some of us DO know: we have made it our business to know and we have not been remunerated by anyone in Fiji or by any external power. This, of course, is inconvenient. It does not suit the posture, it does not suit past, failed policies pursued without OUR interests in mind (our? the taxpayers and the honest, ordinary citizens of Fiji). Our rights and our stated aim to pursue proper governance for all in Fiji will not falter. We shall, however, continue what must be done with a bitter and rancid taste in the mouth regarding the still stated positions of both Australia and New Zealand against assisting Fiji (on our terms) to attain a full democracy which functions and is sustainable into the future. If they choose to nuance this posture towards what we would determine are our just demands for an electoral system which treats us all fairly and which leads to substantial economic development which is sustainable for all the people of this country, then we would, of course readily work hand-in-hand. To date, we see no sign of any such adjustment. The evidence has been there all along: the post May 2006 overblown government which was put in place with the blessing of Australia and New Zealand was unsustainable economically: only a fool would have thought otherwise. It was run by persons who had no standing - by whatever measure one might care to apply. With few exceptions, the level of expertise on offer was compromised and tainted with past prejudice towards many in the population. That is no recipe for governance. It is a signal sign and symptom of arrogant, cavalier exploitation of the people and of resources. The full list of cabinet remains on display - the largest cabinet of any Commonwealth Nation, resourced and 'outfitted in full' by the put-upon taxpayers and voters of a rapidly unravelling country. Pay some heed to some of Peter Foster's remarks: yes, an odd source of comment on issues related to 'Proper Governance'. A Conman in the Know? Do not dismiss all he has to say on the grounds that he must be considered an unreliable manipulator with special skills. Sift the information volunteered objectively - you will wriggle with excrutiating discomfort. And so you ought.
