(+-) Lay Off Bainimarama

If anyone is used to criticism, it's Frank Bainimarama. So starts an article in today's Fiji Sun, "Lay Off Bainimarama, He's Doing it for Fiji." The article goes on to cite academics Hugh Laracy and Crosbie Walsh, and journalist Graham Davis, who support this view, and academic Stewart Firth, who does not. All, in different ways, are "experts" on Fiji. The road you follow depends on where you start from. Click here to read the article in full.

Personally I feel that everyone should just plain ignore Bainimarama.

but for those who really think he is doing it for Fiji ask yourself this?

Why is he prepared to place Fiji in such spotlight just because of his own presence?

If he stepped aside albeit still pulling the strings Fiji really wouldn't be in this mess.

Whatever yo think might be good about his intentions two facts counter this.

1. His 'My way of the Highway' approach and total disregard for balanced argument.

2. His use of military power to further his personal agenda.

Living in Fiji I say go Aussie Go and the same to the Kiwis. Regardless of what you hear ordinary Fijians do not like what is happening and are sick of Military, Mara Clan driven grabs for power.

For the world to condone what has happened in Fiji by offering the criminals any relaxation would be criminal negligence in itself just as the world did to Hitler not so long ago.

To ignore this and work with this group of people will only lead to the same end game as WW2 Uganda and the list goes on.

The end does not justify the means...
