Blog Put on Hold

I've decided to put the blog on hold for a few months. It's  summer and approaching  Christmas in New Zealand and I'm overwhelmed with domestic jobs that have been put off for too long. Running the blog is really too much for one person.

I've also run out of new things to write about.   Government news, news from the Opposition, and foreign news about Fiji is all much of the same. The themes are constant, only the detail change. There seem to be so few new voices or new ideas, and I've got the distinct impression that I've commented on it all before.

There was a time when I immodestly thought the blog  had a role to play in modifying opinions. Then, slowly, reality checked in. The New Zealand media and government are not interested in different perspectives. They have their minds made up. The opponents to the Bainimarama government likewise. And I doubt any senior member of the Fiji government even reads the blog.

I intend to keep up to date with happenings in Fiji and review my decision in the New Year.

Meanwhile,  I wish all readers a happy and peaceful Christmas and a happy 2014.  It will be decisive year for the country we all  love so much.

I've read it and with interest Croz, but more especially a year or two ago. You've done a good job, but your decision actually mirrors my usage, so I think that you're on the nail. A good move, especially when major change is not forthcoming and the personal costs are high but there are people who appreciate your comments. Enjoy the break.

Another one down. Say hello to Barr and the others dropping off the junta perch like flies.

thank you for all your efforts. Fiji is an easy place to sit and say we should/we could/ why don't you etc but hard to effect change. It can wear you down.....too many disappointments ....take a well deserved break

Dude...things are going well! The NEWS is all good for the poor people of this country..Take a break.. As always there could be something that could make the new year very exciting for everyone!

God bless this Nation and those that help to make it become something we are proud about.

Those of us who have worked hard to achieve this will have to ensure eternal vigilance against the corrupt, elitist, groups that have attempted to discredit the rebuilding process - Onwards Fiji!!

Vinaka and Happy Holidays to everyone :)

You were doing a great job with interesting selection of articles and insights, including flaws in media reporting, such as ABC. I am sure this site will be missed by many if it closes. Perhaps tale a well earned break and return later, even if if with less frequent postings.

Cros - you will be missed by all reasonable, fair minded readers. I know i dont get a chance to post as often these days - the posts from the phone never make it but i have been a regular reader.

Hey Croz, before you do a runner like the cowardly junta slurper Barr, pay back the money you and your missus owe the Fijian people for your free trip to Fiji given to you by the illegal human rights abusing junta you drool over. Have you no integrity?

All these AnonyMouse - what a bunch of losers, no ideas of their own, no plan to move Fiji forward, just sit back to criticise those with ideas, indulge in name calling etc.

Must be the homebrew gang sitting under the mango tree !!

Thanks Croz for your relentless efforts to teach us about fairness, truth and dignity. Without your contributions, most would view Fiji's current government as a bunch of human rights abusing kleptocrats. Although your reporting on the tremendous progress that our AG has achieved was sometimes just a little bit biased, your voice was always authoritative, loud and clear. Have a good Christmas break and pleeeeese put your election clock back on your webpage, the next year will be interesting!

Croz has never been biased. He advocates the Bainimarama governance system as a model for other developing countries with an uneducated, indolent and ignorant electorate. And he is absolutely right! Every people eventually get the government they deserve.

thank you croz for your efforts and views. if it wasn't for them I might have given up on everything. my only advice now for our govt is to now tread lightly........we have made our point to the world.....and it has been widely accepted...don't bite too many hands that help us.or burn too many bridges........we are on the home stretch......

Thank you for this "Fair and Balanced" and Informative Blog Croz. UNlike some others who have nothing but personal abuse for others.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Look forward to you resuming, after all those other chores have been done and you've had a break.

Dear Croz
I would like to take this opportunity to defend our visionary government from smear, slander and unfair treatment by Australia and New Zealand. Fiji deserves better than being accused of being a brutal dictatorship or a rabid kleptocracy. The racism that is still around and manifests itself in hatred against our great AG breaks my heart. Please come back in 2014 and teach us about how to vote in the important election coming up.

Thank you again Thikwit. How many pseudonyms do you have Ramshit? As for your visionary 'government' - can you tell us who voted for them again? And what is khaiyum's mandate to rape the nation and fill his pockets and those of his clan?

Sukuna said...

Khaiyum has the same mandate as Mara of Marela House had in 1988 when he became PM. Do you have a name fukwit?

DumbArse TrailerTrash @5.16pm learn Fiji's history before you open your mouth. Qarase had the 'mandate' and used it to screw over half the population – repeatedly – and forced the military's hand. No one wanted a coup, but it happened. Qarase is partly to blame, just like Chaudhry was in 2000. Both coups product of shitty leadership. In other words, if Chaudhry can be held responsible in 2000, ditto Qarase in 2006. No double standards. Why am I wasting time explaining this to a racist, simpleton Canadian Moose??!!
