Therefore, the blame should not be made directly to them. Little did we know that the trustworthy of people came into politics or power to lead the country is at stake because of self righteousness and power hunger to fill their pockets. Well how about the Draconian Bainimarama and Khyum saga going on now building their own empire before the 2014 election!!!!! Well everyone will answer to their own actions when time will come!!!!!! but only God fearing people will stood tall and walk on his path to lead the country Fiji forward!!! I mean God Jeahovah!!! the Alpha and Omega!!! Isa there is no more the Fiji I know!!!! well the bible has been prophecized all these!! and these are the last days where we can not trust people but we just have to pray for our country and the people to live harmoniously.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4727226025187579533.post-44659144553506063592011-09-21T16:39:16.073+12:002011-09-21T16:39:16.073+12:00Both Chaudhary and Qarase should not be allowed to...Both Chaudhary and Qarase should not be allowed to stand for elections - it should be specified in the Constitution as such because they wrecked democracy in Fiji. Both have become multimillionaires crying on the shoulders of the poor! Fiji has had enough of these two and such people need to be weeded out before democracy can be safe in Fiji. One was the face of racism in Fiji and the other a self-serving bigot, deceitful and nefarious!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4727226025187579533.post-72981843068786758582011-09-20T06:30:43.953+12:002011-09-20T06:30:43.953+12:00If Qarase is to contest the 2014 election, he may ...If Qarase is to contest the 2014 election, he may confidently expect that evidence will be brought forth to show that civil servants were in the midst of scams orchestrated to buy votes.Scams to purchase votesnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4727226025187579533.post-51298033080505150862011-09-19T20:10:34.473+12:002011-09-19T20:10:34.473+12:00Well researched and articulated by Appana. Even the Chairman of the PS, Waqanivavalagi admitted that corrpution and nepotism ect were rife in the civil service. Now that Qarase has announced that the SDL will contest the 2014 elections I am sure many voters will make a more informed choice as to who should lead them.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4727226025187579533.post-70013249422271937222011-09-18T15:56:37.627+12:002011-09-18T15:56:37.627+12:00The investigation into the CAAF Overtime Scam reve...The investigation into the CAAF Overtime Scam revealed that large sums of taxpayers money had been diverted to the overtime remuneration of many workers at Nadi International Airport. Some of these employees were receiving more than their annual pay in overtime payments. They must know who they are? Even thirteen years later, they all know who they were and what is more, it is known who arranged to pay this public money to them corruptly. A full Hansard Report was kept of the enquiry. So how was it that nothing was done to: order a criminal investigation by the Fiji Police Force? Recover missing and corruptly-paid taxpayers' funds? This was not a privately-owned statutory body. This was a publicly-owned statutory organisation with a Board of Directors and civil servant executives. Some of those civil servants were recorded as saying: "I do not know" to multiple questions asked of them.

NB: If they did "not know", then they were paid by the taxpayers of Fiji "to know". Is this the end of a story of mis-governance, malfeasance and Public Money down the drain? Is it?Being paid "To Know"noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4727226025187579533.post-48773763062468940602011-09-17T14:24:08.013+12:002011-09-17T14:24:08.013+12:00What a first-class description and analysis of the...What a first-class description and analysis of the chronology and unravelling of events in the entire area of the Public Service from mid-1990s on. What stands out particularly in Appana's paper is this:

"A blatant lack of common courtesy towards taxpayers, corruption, lack of action on cases of abuse of office by the Heads of Ministries".

We would say so. And this went on for years unchecked. An abuse of the taxpayers whose Public Money remunerated these grasping civil servants.

With regard to the May 2006 elections:

"This culminated ultimately in the rigging of national elections which removed the control of the Public through the ballot box on public decisions by the government".

Anybody want to try to state otherwise?

"The rational self-interest assumption underpinning the reform framework (for the Civil Service)ultimately gave way to greed and personal ambition for wealth".

The final damning assessment! It is correct in every detail. The systematic and orchestrated abuse of taxpayers' money which was pursued with absolute indefatigability and determination for more than a decade? How to bring the House Downnoreply@blogger.com
