Helping SODELPA Lose the Elections

"We made a big mistake freezing Rabuka out. Ro Teimimumu only
stood for the leadership to block his return but he would have been a big plus and he has been sitting on the sidelines sniping when he could have been out spreading the message.

Qarase is behaving like an old fool. Fancy telling the people in Lau that they were going to be sold to the Chinese. Even they thought "this guy must be gaga". Unfortunately the Baini is right when he tells people SODELPA is treating people like fools. Qarase needs to understand that things are not the same. The old tactics don't work.

Even in Kadavu to his and Ro Teimumu's faces, ordinary people have been praising the Government for their service delivery. When that
happens, we're in big trouble. We have to offer them something other than just harping on about i'Taukei scholarships etc. For God's sake, their kids are getting their school fees paid and they are hundreds of dollars a year better off. We go in their telling them we are going to take the lease money off them and give it back to the GCC. Sorry, but how dumb is that.

The Baini has given them something. We go to them wanting to take money away. Whoever thought this would work as a tactic needs a good talking to. We must be the only party in the world expecting to win an election by going to the people telling them we want to take money off them. Our campaign has stalled but we still have time to turn it around. Bring Rambo in, shut Qarase up and keep Ro Teimumu above it all. As for the rest, most of the candidates are nice enough but there are no stars."

Is this really the best you can do croz? No more bludgers free trips to Fiji for you and the missus unless you can improve on this dribbling down your junta chin.

Croz, don't be deterred by these idiots. They are really panicking now. No policies except the same old big scares. What else are they offering? I am astonished that Qarase has raised the prospect of reintroducing the Qoliqoli Bill. This was one of the major causes of 2006. Nothing has changed. They have learned nothing but they expect to govern again. Amazing!

I spoke to a taxi driver in Nadi the other day and he told me that MPC is a thief, Qarase is a liar and Khaiyum is the best thing that ever happened to Fiji.

Croz must be doing a great job if your "wild accusation about free trips" has any weight, because you consistently bring this up and 'crickey" its making you look foolish. The fact that you keep reading Croz's blog despite the fact that you consistently disagree with him is beyond me. Whilst is it healthy to disagree with someone's opinion (and its your right), for a change back your statement with some evidence and facts. Drivel and accusations are things of the past.

Agree. Khaiyum amongst other things has put the I-Taukei military on a leash and when he says jump they say how high. According to today's press he is also the darling of the Solomon Islanders - they have nothing but praise for him and his thoughtful decisions.

Wow ! Hear Ye, Hear Ye someone finally deciphers the secret code-NOT. "Gibberish" at its ultimate best.

Fact is that the PM and AG together are a great team and a winning combination. Whereas Ro Teimumu and Laisenia Qarase are unstable and dangerous. As for the others, total non events.

Yes, there is this idea around that the AG is hated. If that's the case, how come he's always in the paper surrounded by smiling ordinary citizens. They are not being forced to pose with him. Let's see how many votes he gets but I think he is a lot more popular than we all think. He is certainly the hardest working minister Fiji has ever seen.

The so called hatred towards AG (and being successfully peddled I must add) began a few years ago when the military council was still in place to advise Frank. There were a couple of times when AG disagreed with ideas/directions mooted by the military council and in two particular instances Frank agreed with AG to the military council's annoyance. Two (now ex-RFMF officers) Driti and Rokolui who were in the military council then developed a particular dislike for AG and started openly criticising him to officers, soldiers and infact to anyone that would listen. It was and is sad because they even stooped to a level unbecoming of professional officers (name calling, mud-slinging etc). It seems that Rokolui has not let this rest and is hell-bent on discrediting Khaiyum and stating that Frank is AG's puppert.
Personally, I look at what people do and not what they say. In both cases, AG was proven right.

It is really amazing how successful these campaigns to demonise the AG have been. At every diplomatic cocktail party, in every office of regional organisations, development partners and embassies you hear the stories how corrupt, vindictive and cunning the AG would be, often followed by remarks that the uneducated masses in Fiji deserve and need strong leaders who are not afraid to dish out some corporal punishment if and when unruly behaviour is detected.

Here is a must read contribution from the Fiji Sun. It just shows how balanced and independent the much maligned Sun is:

The Fiji military made this little boko and it will be the Fiji military that ultimately put the little treasonous criminal in his place. Without their protection he is nothing.
