Lockington's Everyday Fiji ... Life Goes On

Allen Lockington is a self-employed customs agent and business consultant who has regular articles published in www.connectme.com.fj/news/opinion. I thank Allen and Connect for permission to reprint some of them in this political blog. They remind us that life goes on, whatever the political situation. And it's good to know that.

Explore Noni Juice

We are now exploring ways to increase our exports.

One product that has been hot on the market and a lucrative business is the Kura or Noni. The Kura tree grows wild in Fiji and almost every home I’ve seen in Lautoka has one or two.

Why can’t we also tap this product and turning it into a million dollar earner for Fiji? I believe there are a few people processing and exporting bottled Noni Juice. If we can go into this on a bigger scale people can actually plant the tree for viable market enterprise.

I believe it costs $18 for 750ml in Fiji. What it costs in Europe could spur us into manufacturing it big time.

Yes Alan, this will surly solve our problems in Fiji. Be careful though, the stuff is being produced now in the Philippines at a quarter of the cost incurred in Fiji. But there is always the domestic market to fall back to. Noni has sedating properties. So a glass before we start reading unbiased reporting in the Fiji Sun, we should all have a glass. Perhaps it will soothe our outrage.
